Rethink The Routine

There are formulas that can help when you’re planning your wedding.  Here’s one we like…

Schedule first dances at dusk so it’s dark and moody before the party gets started.   Let’s call that 8:30.  Then just build it backwards from there.  Dinner takes about an hour… give or take… so shoot for that at 7:15.  Plan on 20-30 minutes for entrance and toasts, so that can start at 6:45.  It takes 15-20 minutes for guests to transition from cocktail hour to their seats, so start that transition at 6:30.  Cocktail hour is an hour-ish so let’s call that 5:30.  Which has your ceremony starting at 5:00.  Voila!

Formulas can help.  But they can also be thrown out the window.  Many couples today want their wedding to be unique. They’re looking for experience over production and there are so many ways to make that happen. One of easiest and most affordable approaches however is usually the most overlooked.

If you want your wedding to feel different, change the very thing that feels the most familiar.  Rethink the routine.

Here’s just a few changeups we’ve seen that were amazing!

  1. Brunch ceremony with a light lunch and killer party later that night.
  2. Start later with a roaming reception to make it feel less like a dinner and more like a party.
  3. Late night candlelight ceremony.
  4. Cocktail hour before the ceremony transitioning straight into a roaming reception.
  5. High participation ceremonies with speeches / praise and worship / family traditions

With its flexible format, The Foyer is ready for whatever you throw our way.
