A FEW QUICK THINGS
WHILE YOU’RE HERE…
Alcohol
Michigan liquor laws prohibit outside alcohol coming into our space. If your event host has opted to have alcohol at their event, all alcohol must be served by our staff. Shots and straight spirits will not be poured. Our bartenders may require ID for service, so please be sure to have your ID with you. All beverage must stay inside.
Parking
Handicapped and VIP parking is available on our property. Access by the turning onto the drive from Lake Michigan Dr between the buildings. Guests should park in the Dash Lot ($3 or $6 fee may apply). There is also free street parking on all streets surrounding our property.
Smoking
We request smoking to be kept at least 25 feet from the entrances in accordance with local ordinance. Marijuana in any form is not permitted on our property.
Media
Guests acknowledge there may be professional photographers and videographers at the event and vendors may also be capturing content. The Cheney Place reserves the right to use this media for promotional purposes unless other arrangements have been made by your event host.
Communication
While communication for your event will primarily come from your host, there is the chance we may need to reach out with important updates. We will use professional discretion and would only reach out with important updates regarding your event.
FAQ
Handicapped parking is available on our private lot. Enter by turning into our lot from Lake Michigan Dr. Handicapped spaces will be immediately on your left once you pull in.
All entrances, bathrooms and events spaces are accessible. The full venue is on one level without stairs. Handicapped parking is available in the private lot on our property. Please contact our staff if you have any further needs.
Every effort should be made in advance to prepare for safe travel following the event if you plan on enjoying the bar. Uber/Lyft is readily available and hotels are within walking distance. You may leave your vehicle in the Dash lot overnight. If you are parked on our private lot and it is not safe to drive after the event, we require vehicles to be picked up no later than 9:00am the following morning. Vehicles may be towed if not removed by that time as we prepare for events that following day.

Driving North on 131
Take the Pearl Street exit (exit 85B) and turn left at the stoplight. Pass the YMCA on your right and turn right on Seward at the second light to access the Dash parking lot on your right. Our venue is on the first floor of 601W on the corner of Lake Michigan and Seward.
